Alexander B. Kosarev – Dr. of Sc. (Engineering), Professor, First Deputy General Director of the Railway Research Institute.
Biography
Alexander B. Kosarev graduated the Railway Transport Engineering Institute, Railway Electrification Faculty in 1986. After graduating, he began to work in the All-Russian Railway Research Institute. Не successfully completed his Ph.D. thesis "Electromagnetic compatibility of low-voltage networks and adjacent metal communications with a traction power supply system with its amplifying" in 1991. Alexander B. Kosarev completed his doctoral thesis "Methods and means of the ensuring environmental safety in the zones of electromagnetic influence of electrified AC railways" in 1999. In 2007 he became the professor.
In his professional sphere, he passed all the qualification levels: from a junior researcher to the First Deputy General Director.
Main research interests
The main scientific research sphere is the power supply systems of railway transport, as well as the improvement of transport technologies and technical means of the railway and machine-building industries. The priority is the research, practical and management activities’ integration in the Railway Research Institute.
Alexander B. Kosarev has about 200 scientific publications, including 25 patents and 2 monographs.
Alexander B. Kosarev contributed to the development of the environmental safety concept in the electromagnetic influence zones of electrified railways. He developed methods and means of the environmental safety considering traction networks as circuits with variable parameters of the arbitrary soil geoelectric structure. He also proposed an integral system of the traction power supply with environmentally friendly electromagnetic influence.
Alexander B. Kosarev is the author of the following patents on:
- Device for grounding linear objects of electrified AC railways (SU 1316866 A1, date of registration: 05.09.1985).
- Device for AC traction power supply (SU 1505804 A1, date of registration: 06.04.1987).
- Device for reducing the electromagnetic effects of electric railways on wire communication lines (RU 2251495 C2, date of registration: 20.01.2003).
- Subway heat utilization system (RU 120753 U1, date of registration: 02.05.2012).
- Anti-friction lubricant (RU 2524267 C1, date of registration: 25.04.2013).
