Railway Research Institute participated in the "Electronica-Transport" – 2023 exhibition on September 27-29, 2023 at the Expocenter on Krasnaya Presnya as part of the "Russian Week of Public Transport and Urban Mobility". The main theme of the exhibition this year is urban transport, new technical solutions for its operation and management. Power electronics for transport, IGBT modules were presented at the exhibition. New trolleybuses, electric buses, trolleybus-electric bus hybrids with a charging system during movement, autonomous energy systems (new lithium-ion batteries with a high energy density per unit mass), automatic driving, signaling and communication systems for rail transport, climate control devices in vehicle cabins, information boards for passengers and others are shown. The companies of the Russian Federation, Belarus, and China became participants of the exhibition. Among the visitors of the exhibition were our colleagues from Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan - representatives of universities, research institutes, design organisations for the construction of railways, and students. The visitors showed aroused keen interest in the works placed at the Railway Research Institute stand. The Institute presented more than 40 works by the authors of the Institute's staff and issues of the Russian Railway Science journal were presented. All books and journals were taken by visitors by the end of the second day of the exhibition (the exhibition was open for 2.5 days in total). Communication with our reader was also useful. Special attention was paid to books on the economics of transport, as well as publications on the problems of rolling stock (locomotives, wagons). There was a great demand for literature on high-speed highways. The readers’ questions showed that they felt a lack of serious in-depth knowledge that Internet sources replace. Systemic thematic publications are in demand, and this is the advantage of Railway Research Institute as publishing center. Employees of the Research Institute Igor V. Sirotenko and Anna N. Saulina, who worked at the exhibition, noted that none of the companies presented such a variety of publications on transport topics as Railway Research Institute. The exhibition organisers expressed gratitude to the Institute for the participation. |
