From 5th till 8th of December on the platform of Bauman Moscow State Technical University was carried out the international forum on composition «Key trends in composition: Science and technology». The Forum had eventful programme that included plenary session «Main challenges in composition science for next 10 years», workshop for compositions, exhibition, poster session, round tables on various actual topics, 9 scientific sections, scientific stand-up and science slam. The guests' attention attracted the World Championship on composition: Composite Battle World Cup Moscow 2018.

For all days the Forum gathered more than 3000 guests, representatives of scientific and business communities, well-known scientists and young specialists.

Official ceremony of Forum’s opening took place in the Big hall of the Palace of Culture of Bauman Moscow State Technical University. Bauman Moscow State Technical University  Rector Anatoliy Aleksandrov made a Welcoming speech. In the plenary session Main challenges in composition science for next 10 years  were following speakers: Vladislav Panchenko council chair, representative of  Russian Foundation of Fundamental Research, Academician of RAS, Aleksandr Berlin, academic adviser Semenov Institute of Chemical Physics, Academician of RAS, Anatoliy Gaidaisky, Director General JSC «AeroComposit», Victor Avdeev, Head of Chair «Chemical technologies and new materials», Lomonosov Moscow State University, Director Genera CCS «INUMiT» (Institute of New Carbon Materials and Technologies), Mikhail Gordin, Director General «CIAM» (Central Institute of Aviation Motors), Aleksey Borkov, official representative of Ministry of Science and Higher Education. Director of «Russian Composition» Vladimir Nelub was moderator of panel session.

Participants of plenary session discussed perspectives of composition industry for next 10 year and various measures to support industry.

After plenary session there were workshops from winners of WorldSkills Russia, round tables, poster session and exhibition, among the experts there were Bauman Moscow State Technical University «Russian composition», Moscow composite cluster, JSC «Kompozit» (Roscosmos), UMATEX (Rosatom), Sputnix, «SST Group», IntelTest, HimSnabKomposit, ASDTEH, Research Center of Construction Kucherenko, ITECMA, ARPRO, Moscow Polytechnic University,

named after A. N. Tupolev - KAI and others.

In this year on of the key topic of Forum was devoted to Arctic materials and technologies. This issue was accorded to round tables, exhibition display and was performed solemn signing ceremony of agreements in the framework of which a number of research and other works will be carried out.

During scientific sections, there were more than 150 scientific reports, and after the performance, some of the key foreign speakers visited the Center Russian Composition, where they were able to familiarize themselves with the research and production base of the Center.

For Forum concluded there were discussed main issues in composite industry, there were signed important agreements for industry, a number of well-functioning service agreements with students of «Bauman Engineering MSTU», the necessary exchange of experience between home and foreign experts was held, an exhibition of achievements in the composite industry was successfully held. Also there were determined winners of Composite Battle Junior and Composite Battle World Cup Moscow 2018. From 11 teams the 1 place took «Russian Composition». Further teams won following teams: second place won team from KAI (Kazan), third –team Millitary Institute of Egypt, fourth - Lomonosov Moscow State University, fifth - University of Applied Sciences (India), sixth - Myanmar Military Technological Academy, seventh - Bauman Moscow State Technical University, eights - MGOK (Russia), ninth  - Czech Agrotechnical University, tenth – team from France, eleventh - Polotsk State University (Belarus).
