Doctor of technical science, professor, the head of the department “Prospective modeling of the traffic process” in the institute of economy and transport development, Andrey Borodin warmly congratulated the participants of the conference with the anniversary.  In his report he has especially noted the leading position of the scientific school TSNII MPS — VNIIZHT in the field of railway maintenance, its significant contribution to a wide range of developments, such as the organization of cars flows into trains, the placement and development of railroad yards.

Acting Director General of “Digital models of transportation and energy-saving technology”, candidate of technical science Mikhail Mikhedov; Deputy Director of the scientific center “track infrastructure and interaction issues wheel-rail” Zinnur Sharipov; Director of the scientific center “rails, welding and transport materials” PhD in Technical Sciences Alexey Sukhov; Deputy Director of the research center “non- traction electrical equipment and automatic braking system of the train” Gregorii Goryunov. All the leaders who made a speech noted the oversize role of the postgraduate study in the preparation of highly trained scientific personal for the institute. They also mentioned that the postgraduate school plays an important role in organization scientific works of the institute. This is the place where we prepare highly qualified scientific personal, without which it is impossible to solve modern issues facing the industry. The bases of the postgraduate school are the succession of the scientific ideas, transfer of skills and the knowledge of national science.

It is gratifying that the majority of students from the postgraduate school continued their way in science, working in our institute and in relevant organizations, teaches in transport universities.

More than a half of the institute directors are postgraduate students.  The postgraduate education prepares high-quality specialists not only for the JSC “VNIIZHT” but also for the entire railway industry of the country. For the period of 75 years the postgraduate school has graduated about two thousands highly qualified specialists.

In a brief message the Director of Graduate Programme, D.Sc. in engineering, docent, Dmitry Ermolenko marked the postgraduate study, as a system of staff training inextricably connected with the scientific departments of the institute where regular results of post-graduate students' research are conducted by leading specialists.

In the process of teaching and preparing the dissertation you have the opportunity to use the rich collection of books in the scientific and technical library of the institute, as well as publish your articles in the scientific and technical journal "Bulletin of the Scientific Research Institute of Railway Transport" included in the List of peer-reviewed scientific publication of VAK of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation. In plenary session Konstantin Shenfield warmly welcomed the winners of the anniversary contest of graduate students L.  Kossovа , A.  Balyaev  A.  Zhuravlev,  I.  Nikonchuk.  Ceremoniously Konstantin Shenfield congratulated and presented the diplomas of the candidate of technical sciences to candidates for a degree who recently defended a dissertation in the dissertation council D 218.002.01 with JSC VNIIZHT – K.  Klementyev, A. Golubinu,  I. Kuznetsova.

The leading scientists of the institute were awarded JSC "VNIIZHT" certificates of appreciation. These scientists are: principle researcher of the scientific center "Track Infrastructure and Wheel-Rail Interaction", doctor of technical science, professor A.YA.  Kogan; principle researcher of the department "Traction Rolling Stock", doctor of technical science, professor E.E.  Kossov; deputy head of the laboratory of the scientific center "Express", doctor of economics E.A.  Makarova; department head of the center "Electrification and Thermal Power Generation", doctor of technical science S.N. Naumenko; principle researcher of the scientific center "Track Infrastructure and Wheel-Rail Interaction", doctor of technical science, professor V.O. Pevzner. In the afternoon the scientific and practical conference continued its work in 4 sections:

Section 1. Railway Transport Economy. Transport Process Management.

Section 2. Railway Rolling Stock, Train Haulage and Electricity Supply.

Section 3. Track and Track Facilities.

Section 4. Material and Metal Science.

77 scientific papers and reports were presented to the conference organizing committee. All section heads unanimously noted participants' keen interest in the discussed issues; the speakers were asked many questions. A special media spot was organized for the participants and guests of the conference in the lobby near the academic board hall, where visitors could find out more about printed scientific works of the institute and take any book or the latest issue of the journal "Vestnik VNIIZHT". The photo exhibition, devoted to the history of postgraduate school, its graduates and modern everyday life, was also placed in the lobby. For this memorable date the conference organizing committee prepared and presented the first part of the collection of conference materials to the participants of the event. The organizers are planning to publish the second part of the collection in autumn 2019.
