«Approaches to modeling occurrence of rolling contact fatigue damages in rails» Contact fatigue damages in rails along with rail wear are the most common types of rail defects, including new generation rails. Over the last years there have been significant changes in the classification of types of contact fatigue damage on both Russian and foreign railways, especially those working in conditions of heavy haul traffic. Therefore, it is current to study the mechanisms and modeling the appearance of rolling contact fatigue damages in rails. The authors consider modern approaches to such modeling. «Development of an improved wheel profile for a freight car. Theoretical justification» A technique for designing a wheel profile is proposed and the results of its application for developing a new wheel surface form for freight cars with axial loads more than 25 t.
